Different people may have different views based on their unique experiences, but if you ask me, I will say that tape and glue are both awesome!

They are both invented and manufactured based on the existing demand. The key point why people debate should not be which product is better. It should be under what kind of situation, which product is better! Never ignore the prerequisites and the actual needs in different scenarios.

First Time Wearing a Toupee or Hair System:

If it is your first time wearing a toupee or hair system, water-based glue may be more suitable for you to start with than tapes.

Glue is newbie friendly. You need to simply put the glue wherever you want your hair system to be placed on your head, or you could even simply put the glue onto the toupee base and then paste it wherever you want it to be pasted. If you are trying to attach a lace base toupee/hair system, tape is better than glue.

lace net is the base material for lace hair systems. Hairs are ventilated into the small cells of the net. If you use glue, the liquid may go through those small cells to the other side and contaminate the hair roots, which may lead to hair damage.

On a lace-based hair system, normally, you don’t need to use tapes everywhere all over your head, maybe only a few key positions or around the perimeter of the toupee. Ensure you feel your hair system is secure.

There are some very popular and most welcomed base designs, which is mainly lace base but with a skin or PU perimeter. Using tape directly on that skin perimeter is easy and efficient for those designs.

If You Live in Hot Regions:

If you are a very active person or live in hot regions, tape is better than glue.

 As we know, glue is a liquid. Although we use it when it is completely dry, it may melt if your body temperature or the environment heats it. If you are not using the proper glue, it may happen that the glue will run down your face. You don’t want this awkward situation happening to you. So, for places with hotter weather, tape performs much better than glue on the hair system. The tape stays sticky in that area without moving, fading, or melting.

Using Gule is More Natural for Front Hairline:

For the front hairline, using glue will look more natural than using tape.

Many transparent and invisible tapes have been invented, but comparatively speaking, glue is easy to use and can bring you a more natural front hairline on both the lace frontal hair system and the skin frontal hair system.

If You are Sensitive to Liquids/Glue, You Can Try Tape:

As we know, some people have very sensitive scalps. When one kind of adhesive makes the scalp feel uncomfortable, you always have options to try others. If glue makes your skin feel bad, try tape. Just pay some attention to choosing the base material, as some are better with glue while some are better with tape.
